Welcome from the Principal


I am thrilled that I have been given the opportunity to help the community establish Oakbank School. I had the pleasure of meeting many prospective parents and pupils when I helped WoWPG with the Oakbank Open Day in October.



Through this involvement I became captivated by the clear vision for the school and excited by the possibility of helping to turn that vision into reality. The West of Wokingham Parent Group has been inspirational.


It has been exciting and enjoyable to work with such an energetic and committed group of community members who evidently share so many of my own beliefs surrounding education. The combination of this exceptional group with the proven and diverse expertise of CfBT is a powerful one. I have no doubt that the development of Oakbank not just as a Free School but also as a relatively small school will enable it to be a special and distinctive community. It will also be different because it is the school that the community has said it wants. It will be created by the community for the community.



The last couple of months have been busy but exciting ones, as we welcomed our first cohort of students into the school. I hope that this site will provide you with some helpful guidance whether you are an existing or prospective parent or student.
